CHAPTER ONE EXPERIENCES When I was coming up in life, I went through different relationships with different ladies. At that time, I was not thinking deeply about relationships the way I do today. I was simply living, meeting women, falling in love, giving my attention, trusting women, and hoping that each relationship would turn out differently. Every woman I met had her own personality. They came from different families, different backgrounds, different environments, and different experiences. Some were calm, some were outspoken, some were emotional, some were independent, and some presented themselves as people who wanted nothing more than genuine love and understanding. Because of these differences, I naturally believed that every relationship would be a completely different experience. But as time went on, something began to disturb me. I started noticing certain patterns. It was not that every woman did exactly the same thing. No. Their situations were different, their personalities were different, and the circumstances surrounding each relationship were different. But somehow, I kept experiencing things that eventually led to disappointment. One relationship would end and leave me asking myself questions. I’m I really the problem? Then I would enter another relationship, believing that this time things would be different. I would meet another woman, get to know her, build a connection with her, and begin to believe that perhaps I had finally met someone who would give me a completely different experience. But after some time, another situation would arise. Another disappointment. Another question. Another experience that made me look back at the previous relationship and say, “Wait a minute. Why am I experiencing something similar again?” That was when I began paying closer attention. At first, I thought the problem was simply the woman I had met. I told myself that perhaps I had just been unlucky. Maybe I had met the wrong women. Maybe I had not yet met the right person. Maybe the next relationship would finally give me the answers I was looking for.
So I continued. I met different women. I entered different relationships. I experienced different situations. And with every experience, I learned something new. But the more I learned, the more questions I had. I began to realize that some of the things I had previously considered isolated incidents were not necessarily isolated in my mind anymore. They seemed to appear in different forms, under different circumstances, and with different women. That was the point where my curiosity became stronger than my disappointment. Instead of simply becoming angry, I started asking questions. Why do women behave the way they do in relationships? Why can two people start with love, excitement, promises, and beautiful expectations, yet eventually find themselves struggling with trust, communication, money, control, expectations, or disappointment? Why can someone appear to be one person when a relationship begins and gradually reveal another side of themselves as the relationship becomes deeper? And most importantly, why did I keep noticing certain patterns in my experiences with women? These questions changed the way I looked at relationships. I stopped looking only at what happened and started trying to understand why it happened. That difference was very important. Because when something hurts you, your first reaction is often to blame the person who hurt you. You may say, “She did this to me.” You may say, “Women are like this.” You may become angry and decide that you never want to trust again. But after going through several experiences, I began to understand that anger alone would not give me the answers I was looking for. I wanted understanding. I wanted to know what was happening beneath the surface. I wanted to understand the female gender beyond what I had personally experienced. I wanted to know what influences a woman’s thinking, what shapes her expectations, what she considers love, what she considers security, what she expects from a man, what she fears, what she values, and what can make her behave differently when she enters a serious
relationship. And this is where my journey became deeper. I began to observe women differently. I began listening more carefully. I began paying attention not only to what women said, but also to how they behaved in different situations. I began comparing experiences, not to condemn women, but because I wanted to understand the differences between men and women and how those differences can affect relationships. The more I observed, the more fascinating the subject became. I discovered that relationships are not simply about two people saying, “I love you.” There is much more happening underneath. There are expectations, fears, childhood experiences, family influences, cultural beliefs, personal ambitions, financial expectations, emotional needs, insecurities, and experiences from previous relationships. There are ideas about what a husband should be and ideas about what a wife should be. Sometimes, two people enter a relationship carrying completely different definitions of love without realizing it. One person may believe that love means sacrifice. Another may believe that love means financial support. One may believe that love means freedom. Another may believe that love means constant attention. And when those expectations collide, problems begin. This made me look back at my own experiences with a different perspective. I started asking myself whether some of the disappointments I experienced were simply caused by individual choices or whether there were deeper patterns that I had failed to understand. The more I searched for answers, the more interested I became in understanding women. I wanted to understand why some women behave differently when they are dating compared to when they are married. I wanted to understand why some expectations become stronger after marriage.…
