In plain words

Here is what everything on this page means, and why you might want it.

What is a reading plan?

It is like a library card. You pay a small amount each month, and you can open and read any book on AfriKDP on your phone or computer. You do not have to buy each book.

Why not just buy the book?

Buying is best when you want to keep one book forever. A plan is best when you want to read many books. One plan costs less than one or two books, and it opens every book here.

What is a page?

Every plan gives you a number of pages each month. A page is counted when it stays open on your screen for a few seconds. Flip past a page quickly and it is not counted. A normal book is about 150 to 300 pages, so 300 pages is about one book a month, and 900 pages is about three or four books.

What happens when my pages finish?

Your reading pauses until next month, or you can add 200 more pages for $2, or move to a bigger plan. Nothing is lost. Your place in every book is saved.

What is the Reader Copilot?

It is a helper you can chat with about the book you are reading. Ask "what did this chapter mean?" or "explain this like I am new to it", and it answers using the book itself. Every plan gives you a number of messages a month.

What is a credit?

A credit is a small coin for the AI tools. One credit is worth one cent. A short summary or a quiz costs 3 credits. A chapter read to you by an AI voice costs 60 credits. Your plan gives you credits every month, and you can buy more. Credits you buy never expire.

Why do the bigger plans cost more?

They give you more pages, more Copilot messages, more credits, and AI-narrated chapters. Pick the plan that matches how much you read. You can change it any time.

Where does my money go?

Every page you read pays the author of that book. So when you read on a plan, you are paying African writers directly for the pages they wrote.

What does "first month" mean?

Your first month is cheaper so you can try it. After that, you pay the normal price shown next to it. You can cancel before the first month ends and pay nothing more.

Which plan is right for me?

Read one book a month: Lite. Read a book or two and ask questions: Basic. Read three or four books and study with quizzes: Plus. Read every day: Pro or Max. A school, book club or family: Ultra.

Need a little more?

Buy extra pages or credits without changing your plan. Credits you buy never expire. Extra pages are added to this month.

How it works

How do I pay?

You pay with your bank card through Paystack. The price is shown in dollars, and your card is charged the same amount in naira at that day's rate. It renews every month by itself until you stop it.

Can I stop?

Yes, any time, right on this page. You keep reading until the end of the month you already paid for. After that, no more money is taken.

Can I read on my phone?

Yes. Open any book from the Explore page or your library, and it opens in the reader. Your place is saved, so you can continue on another device.

Can I give a plan to someone?

Yes. Under every plan there is "Gift this plan to someone". You pay once, and they get the plan for a month. They do not need a card.

Can I earn credits?

Yes. Share your invite link. When a friend starts a plan, you get free credits.
