Reading Plans, AI Features and Related Data

If you subscribe to an AfriKDP reading plan, we record which pages of a book you have had open in the online reader and for how long, so that we can meter your monthly page allowance and pay the author for the pages you read. Authors see aggregate figures (pages read, number of readers and earnings); they do not see your name or email.

To protect authors and readers from fraud we keep the network address (IP) from which reading and payments take place, and a card fingerprint supplied by our payment processor (never the card number). These are used only to detect self-dealing and payment reversals and are deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.

AfriKDP AI features (Copilot, Book Writer, summaries, quizzes, translation, narration and similar) send the relevant text, your prompts and, for authors, your sales and catalogue data to our AI processors in order to generate a response. We keep a log of each request (feature, length and outcome) for billing and abuse prevention. We do not use your manuscripts or conversations to train models for third parties.

Highlights and notes you make in the reader, gifts you send (including the recipient's email address and your message) and referral codes are stored so that the service can work and are visible only to you, the recipient of a gift, and AfriKDP staff for support.

Emails about your plan (renewals, low page balance, continue-reading reminders, weekly author earnings) are part of the service. You can stop reminder emails by cancelling your plan or contacting us.
