Science, Islam And The African Intellectual Tradition
About This Book
At its core, this work rests on a simple but often neglected premise:
that the Islamic worldview, grounded in the pursuit of knowledge
('ilm) as a religious and moral obligation, provided fertile ground for
scientific inquiry across Africa long before European colonial
contact — and that this tradition did not vanish, but was disrupted,
and now calls for honest historical recovery and renewed
engagement.
