Author Publishing Agreement

This Author Publishing Agreement is a legally binding contract between you (the "Author") and AFRIKDP. By uploading and publishing content on our platform, you agree to the following terms.

1. Copyright & Ownership

You retain 100% of your copyright. AFRIKDP does not claim ownership of your intellectual property. You are entirely free to publish, sell, or distribute your work on any other platforms simultaneously.

2. Grant of License

By publishing a digital book on AFRIKDP, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

• Host, store, and display your digital files securely on our servers.
• Distribute, sell, and deliver your content to users who purchase it.
• Use your book cover, title, description, and author name for promotional and marketing purposes.
• If, and only if, you sign the separate Partnership Agreement, sub-license the rights above to approved distribution partners, as set out in that agreement (see section 10).

This license lasts while your book is published on AFRIKDP and ends for new sales when you unpublish or delete it, as described in section 9.

3. Pricing & Distribution

You have sole discretion over the pricing of your work. You may offer your work for free, set a fixed price, or utilize our "Pay What You Want" model. AFRIKDP will collect payments on your behalf and distribute your royalties according to our Royalty & Withdrawal Policy.

4. Author Warranties & Representations

By uploading content, you guarantee that:

• You are the sole creator and copyright holder of the work, or you possess the explicit legal right to distribute it.
• Your work does not plagiarize or infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Your work does not contain illegal material, hate speech, or content that violates our Acceptable Use policies.

5. Moderation & Removal

AFRIKDP reserves the right to review, reject, or remove any content at any time, with or without notice, if we determine it violates this Agreement, our Community Guidelines, or poses a legal risk to the platform.

6. AfriKDP Reads (Subscription Reading Programme)

Unless you switch it off for a book, your book is available to AfriKDP reading-plan subscribers in the online reader. You are paid a fixed amount for each unique page a subscriber reads, at the rate published on the plans page at the time of reading (initially $0.006 per page, credited in naira at that day's rate). Earnings are shown on your dashboard immediately and move into your wallet after a holding period of seven days, after which they can be withdrawn under the Royalty Policy. Reading arranged or performed by you, your associates or automated means to inflate earnings is prohibited; such earnings will be held or voided and repeated abuse ends your participation. Earnings funded by a payment that is later refunded or reversed are cancelled. You may remove any book from AfriKDP Reads at any time from My Products.

7. AI Tools

AfriKDP AI tools (Copilot, Book Writer, analysis, metadata, marketing, translation, images and narration) read your manuscripts and sales data to produce suggestions and drafts. You remain the author and publisher of anything you publish: you are responsible for reviewing AI output for accuracy, originality and rights, and the warranties in this agreement apply to it. Book analysis is free; other tools use plan allowances or credits as published. We do not use your manuscripts to train AI models for third parties.

8. Identity Verification & Payouts

To be paid, you must verify your identity as described in the KYC & Identity Verification Policy. Verification is required before you add a payout account, publish a paid book or withdraw earnings. You confirm that the identity you verify is your own and that you operate your account personally. Nigerian authors are paid through a Paystack settlement account created after verification; authors in other countries are paid by bank transfer or mobile money. Afri KDP may cancel a verification and pause payouts where a check no longer holds.

9. Termination

You may terminate this Agreement at any time by deleting your books from the platform and closing your account. Upon deletion, AFRIKDP will cease selling your work, though users who previously purchased your book will retain access to their downloaded copies.

10. Partner Distribution (optional)

AFRIKDP can help your books reach more readers by offering them through approved partner bookstores, reading apps, libraries and subscription services. This happens only if you sign the separate Partnership Agreement. If you do not sign it, your books are sold only on AFRIKDP. Under that agreement you receive 85% of what AFRIKDP receives from each partner sale, partners never receive your identity, bank or contact details, and you can leave at any time.

11. Changes to This Agreement

AFRIKDP may update this Agreement. We will tell you about material changes, such as a change to your royalty, by email or on your dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you may unpublish your books or switch off the feature it concerns before it takes effect; continuing to publish after that date means you accept it.
