Encyclopedia Of Muslims Scholars

This volume was compiled from an extended trilingual drafting process covering ten thematic sections
and one hundred scholar profiles. In the course of that process, a small number of scholars were
revisited across sections deliberately -- figures such as al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and al-Tabari made
contributions spanning multiple disciplines, and each section highlights the facet relevant to its theme.
Where a scholar's entry in a later section would simply repeat content already given in full, this edition
presents a short cross-reference instead, to keep the volume readable and non-repetitive. Numbering
has been made sequential and continuous across the volume for ease of reference.
The prose in each entry has been lightly smoothed from its original point-form drafting into connected
paragraphs, in keeping with the register of an academic historical reference work, while preserving all
factual content as originally researched and approved.
