As the years pass, his childhood dreams slowly collide with reality. The soldier or president he once imagined becoming never comes to pass. Instead, he faces unemployment, financial struggles, marriage, parenthood, responsibilities, sacrifice, and the endless demands of adulthood.
Yet every time he believes he has finally reached the peaceful stage of life, reality makes another move.
At eighty years old, after spending his entire life working and providing for his family, he finally reaches the moment he thought he had been waiting for. But there is no more road ahead.
Looking back, he realizes that he spent his life chasing tomorrow while overlooking the beauty of today.
The Beautiful Joker is a reflective and emotional short story about growing up, family, dreams, sacrifice, aging, and the strange game called life. Sometimes, life doesn't give us the ending we imagined. Sometimes, the greatest gift was the journey itself.
